Phil Kollin and Mike Crowder will be our guides as we sip through three American Whiskeys that are affordable, available nationwide, and worth your time seeking out! We're leaving behind those pretentious year-end list-topping bottles that cost north of $300 and can only be purchased for four days in April. In 2025, there is a wider variety of great bottles sitting on the shelf than ever before...and always something new to try, discuss, and enjoy!

Phil Kollin '00, of Phil Talks Whiskey, is an Executive Bourbon Steward who shares his passion for Kentucky's native spirit around the country. From the distillation process to the business strategies shaping whiskeys, he aims to uncover some of the popular myths that often obscure the truth.
Dr. Mike Crowder, Miami Professor and Dean of Graduate School and also an Executive Bourbon Steward. Mike's Crowder Laboratory analyzes distilled spirits to develop a library of chemical fingerprints for authentication purposes (looking for imposter bourbons) and to map the chemical content of bourbons with consumer preferences.
