Meet Phil Kollin

There is a lot say about whiskey. And I want to share all of it. I strongly believe it should be passed along like its rich history has been over the last 220+ years. I want to share with you the captivating world of whiskey, exploring its intricate history and stories of the larger-than-life figures intertwined with each pour. From the distillation process to the business strategies shaping whiskeys, I aim to uncover some of the popular myths that often obscure the truth.

As a Louisville Certified Tourism Ambassador and Executive Bourbon Steward, I’m all about exploring and sharing the iconic spirit of Kentucky. Daniel Boone and I are on the same page when he once said "I believe that Heaven must be a Kentucky kind of place.” My favorite spot to sip my whiskey is on my back porch just outside of Louisville in a rock’s glass with a big ole cube of ice. But the second best place is in tastings from coast-to-coast with all sorts of groups tasting all sorts of whiskey. I also once won big at the Kentucky Derby on a long-shot horse named Charismatic in 1999 and I haven’t stopped talking about it since.

Let's embark on this whiskey-laden journey together! My goal for years now has simply been to just show people a great time. And, hey, ya might just learn something a long the way too. Cheers!

Phil's whiskey expertise shines through his captivating discussions on the spirit's history, myths, and individuals behind brands. He shares folklore, leads whiskey events, and is dedicated to exploring every two lane and no-lane road in Kentucky for some unique stories. As an Executive Bourbon Steward through The Stave & Thief Society, he manages every experience like a VIP experiences and shares his passion for all things bourbon.

I recently had the pleasure of hosting a private whiskey tasting with my friends in the comfort of my own home, thanks to Phil Kollin and his business “Phil Talks Whiskey”. I have to say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience!

I hosted an entrepreneurs meetup in November 2023 and we hired Phil to give us a private tasting. If you’re reading this and considering hiring Phil... just do it!

He wasn’t just knowledgable... he was hilarious, entertaining, and gave me a whole new appreciation for bourbon and it’s fascinating history.

Literally had the best experience with him and will 100% do it again once the opportunity comes up!
